Handmade Wooden Buttons - Chunky Sycamore

Handmade wooden buttons, by Dorset wood-artist Gerthe Tesson-Spreij. The buttons are approx 20mm in diameter and 4-5mm thick. The surface of the buttons has been lightly sanded, and finished with beeswax for a simple rustic look. These look lovely on items made with handspun yarn. These buttons were made from wood offcuts from a violin-maker's workshop.  Fiddleback sycamore has beautiful featuring in the grain that makes these buttons appear almost iridescent.
