A beautiful handmade top-whorl spindle with a pretty pink/cream design with imprints from real leaves. The whorl is made from a combination of polymer clay and resin - resulting in a whorl that is lightweight, well balanced and super shiny on the surface. The spindle has a birch wood shaft, which is 23cm long. The whorl is notched to the back of the hook. Total weight is 37g, perfect for spinning medium to heavy weight yarns. The handmade silver-plated hook is in a swan-neck style, which balances the yarn properly above the centre of the spindle. Has been lathe balanced and test spun to ensure it spins well.
This spindle is supplied with a robust custom-made shipping container, which also acts as a handy carrying case for later.
The resin used for the whorl contains a UV protectant, however to avoid any yellowing of the surface, we recommend that you store your spindle away from direct sunlight.
You'll also receive a small length of pure wool top to practice spinning with. It might not necessarily be the wool from the photo as I keep various oddments in stock for packaging with spindles.
