Mouse invasion

We have a home invasion by mice going on at the moment, so I've been putting out a humane trap. This pic was shortly taken before the little critter's release. The poor thing had made his nose sore trying to get out of the trap, so I gave him a biscuit too.

Mouse

I'm fairly sure they're wood mice, not house mice. And despite the annoyance of having them scampering all over my stuff, I still think they're pretty cute. This one's the 12th that I've caught since Christmas. Either they're breeding, or they're finding their way back from the barn where I release them.

I haven't found how they're getting in yet, and they're so tiny that I doubt I ever will. So for now I just keep catching them and putting them back outdoors. Don't suppose anyone has suggestions for some kind of mouse repellant??

At least it's only mice.... we're currently battling the rats, they come down from the pheasant breeding operation behind our house in the winter. You can bet we're not using humane traps for those...

Euw, no - I don't like rats either. Quite agree with the non humane trap for them!
